January 6th, 2024.
Monthly Medal.

Today’s event was Stroke play. It was the “Laff’s”, January, Monthly Medal event.
Many thanks to Liam and staff of Laff’s, for their continued support of our club.

The weather was fine and warm, with minimal wind. It was quite humid during the afternoon, with sweaty brows appearing after a few holes. Conditions that we haven’t experienced of late.
The course remains in good condition, albeit dry and hard below the green tinge. The spasmodic rain of late has helped. The greens continue to look and play well.
The fairway mower has been given a break for the past few weeks, but it should be fired up again in the coming week. The recently re-introduced “Preferred Lies” has helped overcome any anomalies thrown at us with summer course conditions.
Although it may appear that the volunteer staff have been on a summer hiatus, rest assured that a lot of work is still being done, so thanks to those people.

A good field of 33 players competed in this week’s event. Two grades were declared.
